The History of Bradshaws
Bradshaws was first established as Bradshaw & Co. Estate Agents in Mill Hill, London in 1929. Over the next couple of years the brand expanded into Bedfordshire with the 1931 opening of an office in Upper George Street, Luton. Two years later in 1933, there was a split from the London offices with the aim of focusing on the Bedfordshire property market. In addition to the name of Bradshaws continuing in Bedfordshire, the company also added a Chartered Surveying division to the business at that time.
During the Second World War, and the decades following, Bradshaws continued to serve South Bedfordshire becoming known as experts in the region, and in 1984 the Harlington office was opened. The brand grew further in 1988, when Bradshaws acquired Carrintons of Leagrave and Mark Edwards of Stopsley & Ampthill, thus further consolidating its position as regional experts. A decade later, an office was opened on Church Street in Dunstable.
In recent years the business has moved to focus on the market surrounding its’ home village of Harlington, retaining their centrally located village office in order to service the network of areas in and around Central Bedfordshire. In September 2021, Bradshaws moved into newly refurbished offices on the main parade of shops in the centre of Harlington village becoming a key element of the rejuvenation of that retail area.
