Welcome to Harlington

Village charm, effortless connections

Harlington is a charming and well-connected Bedfordshire village, offering the kind of balance that continues to make village living so appealing. Positioned between Flitwick, Ampthill and Toddington, and within easy reach of the M1, the village combines a more relaxed, community-led setting with excellent access to larger towns, employment hubs and London commuter routes. Harlington railway station is one of the village’s great advantages, providing direct Thameslink services towards Bedford, Luton, St Albans, London St Pancras International, Gatwick Airport and Brighton, making it particularly attractive for those who need strong transport links without sacrificing a village environment.

At the heart of Harlington is a traditional village community, with local amenities, green spaces, historic buildings and a welcoming sense of place. The village is home to well-regarded schooling, including Harlington Lower School and Harlington Upper School, while local churches such as St Mary the Virgin and Harlington Methodist Church contribute to its established character and community life. With village halls, clubs, groups and regular local activities, Harlington offers more than just convenience; it provides a genuine village lifestyle, where families, commuters and downsizers alike can enjoy a connected yet characterful place to call home.

The Hub & Spoke Café

At the heart of Harlington’s village community is The Hub & Spoke Café, an independent, family-run café on Lincoln Way. Opened during Covid by Rob and Sue, the name reflects Rob’s love of cycling and Sue’s passion for community, and it has become a welcoming local spot for coffee, homemade bakes, light lunches and conversation.

Described on its social channels as “Harlington’s living room”, The Hub & Spoke captures much of what makes the village feel so connected, relaxed, friendly and genuinely local. Alongside coffee, brunch, sourdough pizzas, cakes and savoury bakes, it is also popular with cyclists, walkers and dog owners, with gluten-free and vegan options available.

Harlington Train Station

One of Harlington’s strongest advantages is its railway station, which gives the village excellent commuter appeal while still retaining a more traditional Bedfordshire village feel. Harlington station sits on the Thameslink route, providing direct services towards London St Pancras International, Farringdon, City Thameslink, Blackfriars and beyond, as well as northbound connections towards Bedford.

Journey times into London St Pancras International are typically around 45–55 minutes, with the fastest direct services taking approximately 45 minutes. The station also provides convenient access to Luton Airport Parkway, making onward travel particularly practical for those who commute, travel regularly or need straightforward airport links.

Harlington Station is located on Station Road, Harlington, Bedfordshire, LU5 6LD. The ticket office is scheduled to open Monday to Friday from 06:45 to 13:20, and on Saturdays from 08:15 to 14:15.
